...idling-Please HELP!!? Okay here is the problem I am having:

My wife owns a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2L 4 Cyl. It has 120,000 miles on it. We are expecting our baby any day now, and I would like to get this car back to par before we leave the hospital. We intend to trade in this car for a more reliable ride, but want to get it running right. The car has a rough idle, when I say rough I mean when you are sitting a stop light, or in your driveway it idles so rough off and on you think it is going to die. The check engine light of course is on. I scanned the Code last week and it showed a code of p0130 and a p1870. I replaced the O2 Sensor before the CAT, and erased the codes. That didnt help. The check engine light came back on and it is saying code p0300 and p1870. I have changed the spark plugs about 7k miles ago, I did not change the plug wires at that time like I should have, changed the fuel filter, air filter, and front O2 Sensor. Does anyone have any information on what I do next? Thanks for any help!

are you reading codes by flash or reader ? is it ok at 1500 rpm and above ? think you have bad coil pack or wires crossed those codes if done by reader lead back to ramdom missfire related

P0130 HO2S Circuit Closed Loop (CL) Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1
P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P1870 Transmission Component slipping

Suggest plug wires would be a next step for the P0300. The P1870 code doesn't sound good, but may clear up if the engine gets running right. 120K miles is kind of early for a transmission failure.

try replacing the throttle position sensor. i replaced mine and it runs better. $5.00 at a scrap yard if you pull it out yourself. $60.00 new. good luck

have you tried spraying the tb butterfly with tb cleaner and wiping the edge with a clean cloth? when shut at idle there is very thin line around it for air to enter.
