2000 Sunfire - Blinkers not working!!!

Hello, I need some help with my car please! Both my blinkers stopped working properly last summer, but then they worked again in the fall and winter. Last week, however, they both stopped working completely!!! Sometimes, they will flicker on, but it is short-lived. Also, I can hear a "click" whenever I activate the blinker, but then nothing happens after that. My brother-in-law is an electrician and might be able to help me solve the problem, but thought I could get some direction here as to what the problem might be. The motor is still working well, and was hoping to still drive the car a few more years. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks for your help!!!

if you put on you left blinker and look at the lights front and back does either end come on even if it doesn't blink ? If you do the same with the right side does either the front or back come on and not blink?
Have you removed the light bulbs and looked for either burnt out bulbs or poor electrical connections in the sockets?

Just a guess here but I think you need a new Flasher relay
