2000 sunfire /shuts off

I can be driving and the car shuts down. It will not start and usually takes an hour or longer to re start.Replaced fuelpump, fuel line filter, injectors supposedly cleaned. Have spent $600.00 already and still no cigar. Have driven 1000 miles one time, but lately it won't make a 6 mile trip. I also had it shut down going through the car wash twice!! I love my sunfire, but i am a 59 year old disabled viet nam vet and i need my car to get to my Drs appts approx 50 miles away. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. OOOOOOOHRAH! Semper-Fi!!

have you checked if the computer throws any codes? are you sure the injectors arent leaking?

sounds like you need a new mechanic. no explanation? i would replace the coils. a coil is a capacitor like the one in our old zenith that used to fail when the tv got warm halfway thru dragnet.
