Tonight i was driving my 2001 grand am down a road, and as it went to change gears, the car died. I was able to start it back up, but as i shifted into drive and started to go again the car died after about 15 feet. After this the car would not turn over again. After we towed it home, i tried it again, and it started, but the same thing happened when i tried to drive it. What could be wrong with it?

Have you checked for loose battery terminal connections?

There's quite a few things that can be doing it, check for codes, check battery voltage when running, fuel rail pressure and vacuum, those are probably the most common car stoppers.

Yeah, I've installed a new fuel filter along with a new pump(wasn't the issue, but desperately needed doing.) Battery is good, and so are all the connections, I have it at the dealership as of now(friend is the general manager now). Going to scan it tomorrow and see what that turns up.

As an update in case anyone else had similar problems, it was the camshaft positioning sensor, (cps) when this got replaced it ran fine, but died again a couple days later. That problem being the ICM, or Ignition Control Module. Whenever replacing one, its best to replace the other at the same time, now I know.
