I recently bought a 2001 Montana used (147000KM). Everything has been going great, except the weather recently warmed up to above freezing during the day, and I've noticed when I turn right, I hear a clunk sound. Now, the sound doesnt occur when I turn the wheel to the right but when I turn it back to go straight. The roads have been pretty gross due to snow melting, sand, salt, etc. Could it just be some junk in somewhere it shouldn't be? And it's not a constant clunk sound, it will clunk once while the wheel is turning back to go straight.

I've tried turning the wheel and then back while stationary and it does not make the sound, only while the van is in motion. It just started over the last three days, and I've not taken it to a mechanic yet.

Try to lube it up first. Could be a ball joint? You won't know until you jack it up and check it out.

check the CV joint while you are under the car

K I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to things like this. I know where the ball joint and CV joints are, but how does one check a CV joint?
