So the engine coolant fan is not working on my grand am. it only works when I turn the AC on, I checked the relay and its working, I also replaced the Temperature gauge sensor, there is no coolant fan switch on the block or the radiator and when I disconnect the temperature gauge sensor wire the fans will work on the highest speed but the gauge wont work. I also tried to bleed the coolant cycle to get all the air out of the system. the fusses are good too, and there are no wires disconnected, now where to look ?
at Autozone the computer is showing that there is only one temperature sensor and the car is not equipped with a coolant switch

The fan does not come on until temp reaches 220 or so ... and it will come on ALL the time when the a/c is on .. also the heater I think ... dont freak out .. it is normal ... normal operating temp is 200-220 ... I found out the hard way! So dont freak out. These are the weirdest engines I have ever seen.

The fan is controlled by the computer. The fan doesn't come on with heat, just the ac. 220 is about the right temp for the fans to come on.
