2001 pontiac sunfire rpm issue..?

I will be driving and atleast once everyday, out of no where the rpm's will move up and down a bit and I can feel the car, very slightly jerk as this is happening. I release my foot off the gas for a second, then continue to accelrate and the problem is gone and doesn't come up again. This has been going for maybe 3 years. Any Ideas?

One thing I would try right off is changing the fuel filter especially if you've not changed it since this problem has occurred.Keep in mind that fuel filters should be changed once a yr and that problem could be comp related even a bad sensor too.


Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way if you've not changed the filter in all this time or been running with a low tank then treat the gas after you change the filter , then afterwards change the filter , plus buy fuel injector cleaner too.
