2001 pontiac sunfire stereo question

Guess I'm a little confused. You stated you had the wire harness from the radio and it "plugged" into the existing harness from your car, is that correct or are you cutting and splicing wires?

Where do I get those?

least expensive place is Mitchel 1 diy

here you will find all the answers to your questions, I may be wrong about if the car has a factory amplifier because different cars are equipped differently.

However I am sure you have the same radio that came in my wife's 2010 HHR , it does not have a secondary amplifier.

But do not believe me or my memory, find out all you need from the manuals and wiring diagrams within these manuals.

the subscription will prove useful for anything you want to know about your car. good luck if you need help understanding what is written online
then we will be more able to help from there.

yes I think this is what he is doing, what I think he should do is purchase a harness adapter that will plug into his factory harness.

like this one

And connect the new to him used radio and cut factory harness off the 2009 car to the aftermarket connector using the factory wiring diagrams soldering and using heat shrink tubing electrical tape.

this is provided that the new radio doesn't need signals from the anti theft system or other systems in the 09 car he obtained the radio from. however I am sure there is a work around for any problem he encounters short of connecting the wrong wire to the wrong place.
