I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am GT 3.4. I changed the spark plugs on it just as a routine maintenance item. How important or critical is it that the spark plug wires be changed also? They are not damaged, or cracked and the inside that snaps on the spark plugs are fine. The car has 91,000 miles on it and they were the original spark plugs so i would assume they are the original wires as well. If they are still ok is it nessecary to change them or can I leave them as is? Thanks

There used to be measurement for wires of 1000 ohms per foot of wire, if more replace them. I dont know if that still applies to newer cars. Since you assume they have never been pulled off the plugs other than when you changed the plugs there is a good chance they are fine.
