I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am 3.4 liter. The temperature guage reads around 215 degrees farenheit before the cooling fans come on. To visualize, this is about a quarter way past the half mark on the temperature guage. each notch pass the half mark represents 5 degrees.

From what I read, the cooling fans are supposed to activate at about 205 degress farenheit

I would like to know is this normal and has other Grand Am V6 owners from 1999 - 2002 ever experience this situation??? and if so, how did you remedy it.

An engine is normal to run about 210 degrees so its not that big of a deal... and you should use a scanner tool to find out how warm it truely is... Besides mine does the same thing and its a 99
