My pontiac cranks but will not start. So far, have checked the fuel, the fuses, and the spark, which are all good.Today we are going to do a compression test, which i hope is the answer because if not i have no clue what else it could be. So I have read that when you have a blown head gasket the compression goes bad, now my question is....I just had my head gasket replaced, and ever since it was fixed it has made a funny noise when the car starts (like its not getting enough air), and i was wondering if the compression was bad before i got the head replaced and now my car wont start or is the compression bad because i have another blown head gasket, meaning the mechanic didn't fix it right? Or if u have any other insight to what may be causing this problem, i would appreciate any suggestions.
Its not the starter, its not the battery, and my car doesnt have a distributor cap, i have coils. But im getting spark on all the plugs. I will try the starter fluid idea though. This is why im down to a compression test, because everything else seems to be good.
