Installing an audiobahn head unit, and the head unit receives power when all the wires are connected, but the lcd panel won't turn on. cd's can be put in and ejected, but that's it. any help?
also, when putting the old factory head unit in, it works perfectly fine

The 2002 Sunfire doesn't have a key-switched power wire in the factory radio harness. The stock radio is switched on and off through the vehicle data bus. If you don't have a data bus adapter for the new radio, you'll need to connect the (red) accessory power input to a key-switched power source. The vehicle fuse box or ignition harness are good places to look.

Sounds like a ground issue. I would pull the unit out and make sure that the wires are all fixed right!

The problem is the Audiobahn head unit and it is not the first time I have heard of this issue with Audiobahn products. Return it and get your money back or simply place on ground, smash with hammer. Audiobahn products are ALL SHOW but NO GO, avoid them to prevent future disappointment.
