The driver side floorboard along the side has been getting wet when using a/c or heat. Have had the line blown out (through the drain on firewall). This helps for a few days and then the water comes right back. Any ideas on what needs to be done to fix this problem.

the AC evaporator is typically located on the passenger side and will cause issues on that side. Are you sure it is pure water water no chance it is engine coolant, no loss of coolant noticed in tank in engine compartment? No chance it is rain water getting in? What pure heat setting, not defrost or defog, would cause the compressor to engage causing condensation to form in evaporator?

A/C Heat Drain

Seems to be just water. I put a white towel down to soak it up and there is no discoloration. It isn't from rain - this I know for sure. It did it once last year during the summer and they blew out the drain on firewall and didn't do it until about two months ago. Tried blowing it out again and still doing it even when using the heat. What else could it be??

are you washing your car and this occurs after the car wash? If you are only using heat their is no reason why A/C condensation should even occur. The only time the A/C compressor should run is if you turn on the A?C or have the right hand control set for defog or defrost. Have you tried gently inserting a metal rod, coat hanger, into the drain to make sure it is not blocked?

No this is not happening after car wash or rain. Seems to not get wet when I am driving short distances. Went out of town today - hour one way and floor board is now damp. I know it doesn't make sense for the condensation when I am using the heat. Today I went from everything off to using the air a bit and now there is a small wet spot, by small about 4-5" area. I couldn't get the hanger in the drain but recently had car worked on and he said he blew it out again - that lasted about a week - again in town driving and then we went out of town and it is back. Don't know what to think of situation.

is that something easy to fix. Guy I was talking to said the dash would come out and just to clean out (if clogged) some box would cost me $400 is the box he referring to the evaporator??

yes the heater core and evaporator box but you should first determine if that is really the cause

Is there an easy way to determine which one is really causing the problem. I don't have the money to just go poking around.

they are the same unit, contains the heater core and evaporator

o, did not know that. Thanks for the info. You have been very helpful.
