2003 Aztek, no 1st gear, and engine idle problems

I have an issue with this 03 Aztek, and can find no info on possible causes. Transmission will not shift into 1st gear while in D or manually shifting to 1st. It starts out in 2nd gear. Also having an issue where pressing on the brake pedal causes the idle RPM's to climb upwards of 3K rpm. Shutting off and restarting, it will drop to 1500, but again climb as the brake pedal is pumped. Not sure if or how these could be related, but,,.

The brake pedal issue sounds like a vacuum leak in the power booster.
The transmission is an electronic transmission and it would have to be scanned for codes to determine the problem.
You have checked the fluid level and condition of the fluid, not burnt?

No transmission codes,(I'm thinking possible PCM issue?) but I will look into the power booster for the brakes. Thanks!

What did you use to scan for the transmission codes?
