About 2 months ago I stopped to fill my car up with gas and after I filled it up it would not start. I thought it might be the battery, but after a jump it didn't start. I had it towed to a garage and they determined it was the fuel pump. The fuel pump was replaced and it ran and started well until yesterday when it would not start. Once again a tow truck was called and I took it back to the same garage since the repair was covered under a warranty. They once again said it was the fuel pump and blamed it on a faulty fuel pump from the factory. This morning it took 3 tries to get the car started. Am I just getting bad fuel pumps or is there another problem going on here? Let me know what you all think...Thanks!

unless you are going to check for spark and fuel pressure yourself, we can only go based upon what the shop is telling you. Are they replacing the fuel filter when they replace the pump? Are they using an aftermarket pump? Since it did start this time it could be totally unrelated. Do you have a check engine light on?

They didn't replace the fuel filter and they put in an Airtex fuel pump. I am assuming I have good spark the car does not miss or idle rough. I am at college and have limited tools so diagnosing is tough...trust me if I was at home I would have never taken it to the shop. I have no check engine light on.

If they didnt replace the filter either time, I would definitely replace it now. Any small particles that were a result of the two pump failures would be in the filter restricting flow.
