Before recharging my air conditioner, I sprayed a little bit of water on the engine to cool it down due to having to be on top of it to recharge the air, and not it is reving up and keeps hitting the rev limiter. Any suggestions?

Let it dry for a couple of hours and check it then.

Are you saying it hits the rev limiter while driving or in park? Exactly what rpm is the rev limiter cutting in?

I believe that is normal. It prevents you from overreving the engine without a load. There is no reason why you would be reving the engine that high to recharge an A/C system. Does it run correctly when driven?
