I was wondering just like the question asks if there are kits or shops that will change the car from automatic to standard. If it is done about how much does it cost and does anyone know of where I could get this done in Honolulu? The car is a 2003 Grand am V6

Since there was no manual offered on a grand am from factory all the parts would would be custom fabricated, everything from the ECM (engine computer) to the smallest brackets would have to be custom fitted. It would be much cheaper to trade it in for a manual transmission car.

it's possible, and feasible if you are willing to do the work yourself. but by the sounds of it, you are not. You need to look at a transmission called a Getrag 284, it came stock on several early 90s and late 80s grand prixs, mated to their v6 engines. It will bolt right up to your block, but you will need custom flywheel, mounts etc. I am in the process right now of considering this swap with my 99 grand prix.
