hey everyone,

so i just bought a new car (2003 grand am gt 56k miles) for work from a salvage yard.. had some easy fixable damage.. but the person that owned it b4 must have had an expensive audio system as they ripped everything out, stero, speakers ect.. so had me worried about maybe some electrical problems.

so now to my question... just screwing around in the car tonight i was messing with the locks and all the sudden after flipping it from lock to unlock 3 times the car starts.. no key in the ingiation nothing... do it 3 more times and the car shut off. so my question to everyone is this normal??? do these cars come with factory remote start?? or do i got an electical nightmare?

thanks for the help in advanced

does your remote key fob have a button for remote start? Here is a link to the owners manual to help you.

thanks for the reply.

it does not have a key spot. its just the factory fob that has lock, unlock, panic and truck.

all i have to do is switch back and forth from lock to unlock 3 times and it starts. do it again and it will shut off. if u touch the brake it will shut off. u can do the same thing as the key fob from inside the car with the lock/unlock button on the driver side and it will start up and shut off.

i have the owners manual for the car and have looked high and low and cant find anything on this remote start. so it has me kinda wondering if its factory or if i got an electrical mystery ????

any ideas??? thanks
