2003 Pontiac Montana problems cranking

Three days ago my wife had issues cranking her van. 2-3 seconds of hesitation, and the check engine light came on. We did Onstar's vehicle diagnostic, that came back with the emission system is not operating properly. We checked the gas cap, and a day later the check engine light went off. Since then we have had problems cranking the van at every start. I even had to put my foot on the gas to get it to crank tonight. The check engine light has not come on again. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Thanks in advance!

Well you have to have it diagnosed its either spark or fuel problems ,can you check for fuel pressure ? The code you are reading may be from the van just not starting.
