I was driving down the highway. It was about 55 degrees out. I smell something funny... car stops accelerating in 5th gear. I drop it to 4th for a moment and back to 5th and it continues to accelerate. But shortly the smell got strong and smelled awful. Really awful. I drive 2 more miles to the nearest exit, as soon as I go down the off ramp, the car shuts off. I stop at the stop sign and push my white smoking car to the gas station. Car wouldn't start after it stopped smoking. I wait an hr n a half and check the fluids and guages. The guage was in the middle all the way up until I got onto the offramp and it shot up to overheating level right before it shut off. But that smell was so strong, I don't understand why it wasn't working and then read the right reading right before car shut off. ... so, the antifreeze is empty, I fill it up, its leaking out of the freeze plug at the bottom. All hoses are intact. Im pretty sure the smell was oil burning... the oil levels are fine, no water in it or anguish. I take the bleeder or whatever the thing is off of the throttle body and disconnect it from air intake hose thing. There is oil sitting in the bottom of the bleeder but not up the air intake thing. The car wouldn't ever start. It sounded better once I took the bleeder off. Acranks but won't turn over. Friend looked and said the flywheel was not catching.... sooooo im stumped... =(
