2004 3.4 into 99 grand am

Im getting a 2004 3.4 from a Grand am to put into my 99 Grand Am cause the wife blew the engine...im wondering if theres alot of changes to be made or if it will bolt right in and also should i get the PCM from the 04 car and use that so i dont have to relearn the PCM thats in my 99 now and thoughts or comments would be great

It would depend on the engine and what parts you are replacing. The 3.8K engine intake job is about 4 hours for an experienced tech and the 3.1, 3.4 engines are about 5 hours depending on if the engine has A.I.R. system. I can do all of these under 3 hours if I try hard and use air tools.
