2004 bonneville sle short?

I have a 2004 bonneville sle with a short. when my battery is unhooked it read 12 volt when I hook it back up it drop to 4 volts.
I unhooked the power to the fuse box under the back seat. when I put a ohmmeter on the unhooked side of the fuse box and to battery ground it is making completing a circuit. where do i start looking

a short doesnt cause a battery that reads 12 volts to drop to 4 volts in a few seconds. Have the battery charged and load tested before you start chasing any shorts.

I took the battery back in for the second time! the first time they said it look good. just got back from my second trip told the older gentle man what was happening to the car he said sounded like a shorted battery got a new replacement with out a test. installed the new one all is good, thanks
