I have a 2004 Grand AM GT that makes a creaking rubber noise only when turning the wheel and only when I am going slowly (just pulling out of garage, etc) Someone suggested it might be control arm bushings. I would really appreciate any ideas. Thanks!

It also could be a CV joint going bad

I had thought of that too but I've had those go bad on my old Probe and it didn't sound like this plus my boots aren't torn. If it is the bushings, what happens if they don't get replaced right away and how big of a job is it to replace them? Thanks for getting back to me.
