Hi guys I need some help. My 04 sunfire all of the sudden started to have a rough idle and the transmission shifting hard. I replaced the throttle positioning sensor and the transmission issue went away but not the idle issue.
I have replaced the throttle positioning sensor, idle air control valve, cleaned throttle, ignition control module, both O2 sensors. the Coil pack assembly, air filter and spark plugs are only 6 months old..
I am out of ideas as to what is wrong with the car. Idles around 500 with a random jump in the engine. which causes me to have to give it gas when idling. runs smooth as can be when I am moving but at dead stop it runs rough.
Could it be the ECM (engine control module)?? only 139k miles so I don't think the timing chain slipped.
