2004 Sunfire running issue. after 30 km will slow to a stop

each time, same distance. after 30 km and the car will slow down, no accleration, then stall.
wait 10 minutes and able to go again, but same issue but shorter KM covered.
i am looking at putting in a new fuel pump, but not sure if this is the problem

fuel filter replaced
MAF sensor cleaned with MAF sensor cleaner

After it stalls, if you turn the key off and then on, do you hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds?
Have you done a fuel pressure test?

no test done, I don't have that tool. i would say no on the pump run, but there is a possibility it was running

All you have to do is listen for it and the pressure gauge can be rented.

It could also be a clogged Catalytic converter. I have seen a bad converter cause the same issue. When it heats up it blocks off the exhaust flow. But you can usually see it glowing red from the excess exhaust heat when they clog.

TCC ( trans convertor lockup) solenoid could be bad also , causing the car to stall .
