New to forum. My name is Pat. Im from Ky. I appreciate any info you all can give. my 2004 sunfire steering column first started acting up by moving up and down, with no control of position from the tilt lever. To make a long story short and get to the meat and potatoes, it then began to move in all directions. not just up and down, floppy like bacon.lol you could move it literally anywhere. asked a man at autozone if this would cause the wheel to snap off, he said no worries. well, yesterday, I pulled up the driveway and got on it a lil, and the wheel snapped off and fell in my lap. don't know how I was this lucky. had I been out on the road, I would probably not be typing this. question is? Has this ever happened to anyone before? and can it be repaired without purchasing and replacing the entire steering columb. thank you. hope I haven't confused you all too much.
