7 degrees out....doors frozen shut..any way to prevent this....second and most worryisome key remote doesn;t do anything at all...please tell this old man that big repair bill isn't coming?
Make sure your weather stripping is in good condition and lubricate the latch mechanisms so water will roll off. If the remote doesnt work could be a number of things including the car battery being dead.

Better make sure the key cylinder is well lubricated and use the key manually to unlock the door when the remote door locks don't work untill you decide to have it checked. Happened to me a few times when temps get real cold and both car and key remote batteries are in good shape. I just don't bother with it and unlock the door the good 'ole fashion way, with the key
