When it is really cold or Hot outside my gas gage or speedometer or both are inaccurate. Sometimes the gas gage will go to the 9 o"clock position?? Can it be reset or needs replaced?

Might wanna have someone check the speedometer cable, as for the fuel guage. That depends it could be inside the gas tank. Or a wiring problem, maybe should get a diagnostic check.

I know EXACTLY what this is. The Spedometer cluster is out. The engines in the spedometer clusters of the GM cars are NOTORIOUS for being faulty and occassionally they go out. Despite the name, this does also include the gas gauge. I just had mine repaired for 500. It was cheaper than going to the dealership and having a new one ordered that would probably lock up down the road too though.

where or how did they repair it? I have the same issue going on.

Having The Same Problem!! 2005' Pontiac Sunfire, Just Bought The Car In November 2013'. The Instrument Cluster All Of A Sudden Is Failing!! Temp Gauge Stop Working & Rpm Gauge Ran Into Speedometer Causing The Speedometer To Be Glitchy Now!! There Is A Class Action Lawsuit Against Gm & Im Trying To Find Out Now If Gm Is Gone To Fix The Problem With This Car!! Very Dangerous!! Vehicle Just Turned 90,000 Miles!!

I am unaware of any action GM is involved with to correct this kind of issue on vehicles past there 3 year 36 month warranty

Typical problem with the Clusters on the Sunfires and other GM vehicles. The cluster in my 2001 Sunfire had the exact same symptoms, except the temp gauge would go into the red (overheating) zone. Swapped the cluster and all was fine.

BTW the Mileage is stored in the BCM I believe, so the mileage won't read inaccurate.
