So the stock system in the Sunfire is a bit weak for me. I'm not a fan of it at all. I want to get new speakers but I don't want to f$%k it up. Where should I go and what type of speakers am I looking for.

Also, I got the car used and it has an after market stereo. The Onstar mirror doesn't work, it flashes when I press the button but it doesn't have any sound. Could this be caused by a botched installation of the stereo? If so how can it be fixed?

As far as the speed of the car. I DO NOT want to street race, but I want to get on the track with my buddys, a lot of people call it the Sunflower because car enthusiasts say its a girl car. Thats fair enough, but id like to make it faster to prove em wrong, Ecotec engines can be pretty strong I hear. Where would I go to learn more about customization and speed for the car? I see videos of people customizing the balls off of these cars and making them go fast as hell. But nobody I know in real life messes with Sunfires.

I'm definitely a novice, but I am into cars and want to get more into them. Just started getting into working on my car. I'm pretty handy at figuring things out (kept a 97 nissan alive well into 2015) but I don't want to f^&k it up when it comes to speed, as that can be deadly.

The OnStar feature can be disabled if the stereo was not installed with the proper kit. Try www.crutchfield.com and also local stores. You can start with installing a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust for more power.

you don't need to worry about the OnStar unless you upgraded the system, anything before 2008 has to have the dealer upgrade to the new cell system. Most new radios have Bluetooth for hands free phone use, as well as a nav system and backup camera. Although the . OnStar is a good anti theft decoy
