2008 Montana SV6 120kms, problem with Signal lights and brake lights not working sporadically. Indicator Lts. on dash flash rapidly when this happens. Drive on and eventually all lights start to work normally again. Acts like when a fuse is blown or removed. Removed fuse to simulate this! Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this circuit or have this similar issue and a solution? Major SAFETY Issue!

I found a problem with my 05 SV6 with the front right signal not working and indicator flashing rapidly. The brake lights work fine though. The signal light would work fine with no headlights on but once they came on, the right front signal indicator would flash rapidly indicating a bad bulb. I put a new one in and the same thing. I took a little flat screw driver and pried the flat contacts down inside the connector out a bit. This made sure all four contacts inside the socket made contact with the four contacts on the bulb. Once I did this, everything worked fine and normal. Maybe this will help you out.

Bcm

From 2007,the Montana had a BCM or body control module. This controls ALL body functions including the signal flasher. Most manufacturers have gone to this to lower cost of manufacturing. It is a whopper of a price to replace. Try all the usual: light bulb holders, fuses, etc. If nothing shows then try other devices for fuses and circuit breakers and relays which could feed back to BCM. If it all fails, you may need a BCM. These are near $400.00 in Canada. BTW the Montana was discontinued in 2008 in USA , but remained on sale in Canada until 2009.

Checkfor bcm problems

2007 and newer have a central body control module BCM which controls all body electrical items. We have a newer 2009 which was sold only in Canada. The problem appears to be the BCM. Signals and rear lights fail but not the top rear brake light. The power seat also fails. Have not had the BCM checked, this failure is linked to high temperature in cabin as in heater on high or hot day in summer. Maybe someone else can give more information.
