Firstly, I would like to say thank you to everyone for welcoming me into your forum. This is my first day and I apologize if I don't post with proper etiquette...

My name is Mitchell, I am in college and helping my elderly father Mike, price and sell his favorite mid-life crisis car. He is currently in Shasta County but will be returning home to get all specifics regarding the vehicle.
Currently he provided me with the following details:

- 2009 G8 GXP White
- Manual 6-speed
- Est. 2,800 miles
- Immaculate condition (I inspected it myself when I returned home last Spring
Break)
- Clean title
- First and only owner

My father is very anal with his automobiles and honestly treats them better than me haha. He is a two-term Vietnam vet ('66 and '67) with two purples hearts, and with ailing back problems the manual nearly killed him hahah.

We are trying to get an accurate price-point as Kelly and other sites don't account for the limited availability and this low mileage.Feel free to ask me any details and I can call him to confirm. :)

The low mileage benefits toward a car price is a double edge sword, nothing is worse for a car than sitting.

Since it is a 2009 it is not like the car will have a factory warranty, what may help make it more desirable is if the car has a transferable extended warranty.

I pulled this car up on KBB and it shows a value of $36,888

It seems to me that KBB took into consideration the low mileage.

How much are you expecting from this car?

The big question is who in their right mind would spent this much cash money on a complex high performance car with no warranty.

The next question who in the world would have this amount of cash kicking around to spend on a G8 when they could take that cash and pick nearly any car they wanted and get a warranty.

My thought is to avoid your father from loosing a boat load of money and loosing the car he loves why not put a automatic transmission in it?

I think the car is desirable and sought after, yet in today economy the vultures will expect to get this car at a bargain.

Glass123... I would gladly trade my 47k mile 2009 G8 GT with 6-speed automatic for your dad's GXP! It is babied, unmodified and immaculate like yours, but you wouldn't have to deal with that pesky manual and all those issues from sitting!

Seriously, i think this is one of GM's best sedans ever. And now the Holden factory in Australia is no more, and the Canadian Chevy SS doesn't have the same cachet as the 2-year only G8. It may take awhile, but I expect low mileage G8s especially GXPs to become nice collectibles. Reliable, 50-50 balance, IRS, LS-derived motors, roomy, well-built, racing heritage (Australia V8), and it looks good from every angle. I won't join the club that calls it a "4-door Corvette" but I would say it is every bit an M5 competitor at much lower cost.

I think a nationwide Craigslist and eBay GXP search may add to your data points of what people are asking anyway. My sense is "spiritedly-used" ones are low-mid 30s so an unmolested low-mileage one could be worth mid-high 30s??
