I there,
My wife his driving a 2009 Torent that has been acting on her. It all started last week. The Torent would not produce heat to defrost the window when kept on idle. We needed to drive in order to have heat coming out of fan. Once you stop at red light or stop sign, the heat would quickly change to cold air. As you accelerate, hot air would come back ... Also notice one time, as I stop the vehicle, that the two fans under the hood, would still function full blast. If I start and stop the engine, the fans stop.
Yesterday, my wife brought the kids to school and came back home to get something. she left the vehicle on at idle and when she came back, there was en error saying "Moteur Chaud" + "Climat Arrêté" meaning hot engine + climate stop?
She stop the motor and the fan kept on for more than 5 minutes.
I read some treads online that talks about
1. -flaps in the heater box that needs to be repaired
2. -head gasket cracked?

Any idea before I role it in the dealer?
Thanks

Have you checked the coolant level while the engine was still cold?

PS, I double check the coolan level in the over flow bin and I tought it was OK as I was looking from the exterior... Once I opened the lid, I quickly realised that it was almost empty. I top it up to the max line, when for a qick spin, the heat comming out of fan seems way much hoter, and now, when I stop, regular heat keep comming out of fan versus cold air. Could this really be the problem? where would the coolan goes?
I will take it for a longuer drive once the kids are a sleep... will let you know melsg5.
PS, where can I find the coolan cap?
Thanks

The coolant on the torrent is added only on the reservoir, it doesn't have one on the radiator.

You probably have a leak in the cooling system

I drove the car to work today... heat work fine and engine not over heating. I will keep an eye to see if I can spot any coolan leak ? Thanks everyone.
