3.4 2004 Chevy engine swap into Pontiac = very low MPG
I have 1997 Pontiac Grand AM, I swapped the 3.4L engine from 2004 Chevrolet Impala.
Everything works fine except that now I'm getting very low MPG's, about 16 mpg on freeway.
The ERG valve didn't fit the 3.4L intake manifold so I disconnected it and blocked the hole in intake and exhaust manifold, can it really cut the MPG's in half? I really doubt that. Check engine light is on, and the only code I get is P1406.
Anyone has any ideas?
