301 rebuild help plz

i know i know should of took pics and vids but i never silly me

question 1 i have mixed the heads up and cant remember which is which i need help knowing wat cylinder head goes on nearside and offside.

question 2 i also have like a water bung its like a bung that goes in the inlet manifold round water hole and is shaped like an L. also when i present the inlet manifold up there seems to be a gap in the middle on the heads like water would come gushing out of it as its only half covered by the gasket and inlet manifold am i missing somthing

last question for now is i have three head bolts that also have a little thread on top of the bolt i know they go on the outside of the head where the exhaust monifold is but what side offside or nearside head/drivers side or passenger side.

Scot, could you post some pics of what you are talking about?

The cylinder heads I think wont matter unless there are threaded holes in the front that the accessories or brackets or altenator bolt to.

1. left and right heads are the same
2. there are lots of pictures of 301's which might help you

3. Are you installing a factory intake manifold?
4. You did install the valley pan between the heads?
5. The studded bolts are for accessories, either AC or Alternator, etc.
