Hi! I am assembling the engine and found that I'm missing a very important part. Camshaft Thrust Plate. To ship a new one takes time, so I would like to make one myself.

What is the thickness of the plate?

What is the diameter of the big hole?

Ok, I did this and that and finished with a 3mm thick plate, big hole with diameter of 38mm. Made the small jet hole 2mm.

Unless someone had a spare lying around that would be an impossible question to answer. How did you come up with the dimensions?

I'm good at this, good at coping with just looking at a picture, metal work was my everyday bread. Firstly looking at pictures on the interwebs. Just a plain metal plate. Then measuring the distance from cam sprocket/gear to cam, there is a step. The outside measurements are not important anyways. Only thickness and center hole. The small oil jet hole is not very important also, it just sprays on the cam sprocket/gear and with centrifugal force the oil is thrown on to the chain. There has to be an oil channel behind the plate, camshaft has a hole where oil goes into the channel and then through the small oil hole. This is my logic.

Example: started with a piece of baking paper.

nobody can say you're not talented but why chevrolet orange on a Pontiac?

Did you put the Notch in for the Oil drain? I know the stock Cam retaining plate have them.

I was not bragging. We don't know what colors Chevys have. We have used this color on many things. It's red base with Mipa Gemini effect. It has golden and green pearls/flakes in. No chevys where in mind when this was painted. The car is all black, with black interior.

Oil drain should be working fine. The notch in the engine block is free and I made a notch in the plate also, like on the pictures. I figured those two notches are in the same place when plate is installed.

didnt want to imply you were bragging, I was honestly impressed with the picture
