Hello all,

Broke down on my way back from work today - the Firebird cut out suddenly in 3rd gear, normal traffic speed 30-35mph (no stumble no warning, just a thump and immediately dead). There is definitely fuel in the tank.
It will turn over and over, but will not fire, even with starting fluid and a booster pack.

Have changed the fuel filter and discovered a little grit in there. Tbh the filter looked original.

There is no fuel in the rail at the sfhrader valve, so am I looking at a blockage here? What tool do I need to release the fuel line connectors to give those a back blast of air from a compressor?

For now I'm getting the car recovered home which has been fun haha.

Is there anything else I can try looking into?
No codes are present.

Have you checked for spark?
Do you hear the pump run when you first turn the key to the run position?

Hey Mel,

I'm not convinced I can hear the pump tbh, but during recovery the mech said he could and he was the one under the car. I would've thought if the fuel lines were blocked up, at least a small amount of fuel would still trickle through surely?

It spluttered slightly when shot with starter fluid through the intake, so I'm confident there is spark.

A correctly working pump you should be able to hear. Have someone turn the key to run, not start, while you listen near the gas tank.
You stated no pressure at valve.

I'll give it a shot when the weather turns back from the downpour. Nice one Mel.
