I have an '83 Trans Am with the 5.0 liter engine. I have an oil leak around the lower front area, pan, front main, or timing cover. It's not enough to worry about, I change oil once a year (<5000 mi,) and never need to add during the year. But it looks bad and I would to like fix it.
I'll clean it and then check bolt torques on all of the covers, and then try to spot the leak. Can I remove the pan with the engine in place? If it's the timing cover, will it come off after removing the crank pulley?
Thanks.
