Hey guys, just picked up a running “driving” 67 four door. I am very green on these rigs, appears to have mods to the front brakes or just a disc conversion altogether. Certain parts don’t fit right and someone torched the spindle to fit a caliper. Looking to get a decent priced db kit to throw on the front instead of what’s there. Anybody have a link to a kit that works well?
Will post pictures and progress as I learn more. E0D686CD-8B46-41A6-8F8A-3F002F7D286A.jpeg

Thanks guys,
I ended up finding another matching caliper which appears to be from a 67/68 firebird to put on. Got the front brakes happy. I will need to do all new bushings if I can even find any at this point. Worst case I’ll build my own tube control arms and a arms as well as rear control arms. Someone decided they needed the metal dust cover for the lower bell housing so if anyone has a p/n for that that’d be great!

Well, the time has come to pull the engine for a reseal, going to strip it completely, while the engine is out the front end is getting a complete rebuild. Much easier to get to things while the engine is out

How many miles are on the 400? I am afraid that if it has more than 80,000 miles it will require more than just a reseal to fix the oil leaks. After that mileage it is usually excessive ring blow by causes the crank case to build up to much pressure, and you blow out the weakest oil seal, fix that leak and you blow out the next weakest oil seal......
Not trying to scare you, but just passing on prior experiance. Also replacing the rope rear main seal with one from BOP. Will help greatly with rear main leaks. But the directions have to be closely followed!

Yup you are absolutely correct. Pulled the heads and found scoring on the back cylinders. Don’t have the time nor energy to take it to the machine shop but it will be eventually.
