I bought a 67 Lemans/326/4spd, its been parked 20 years but seems to have been well maintained. Got it running and stopping. This is a budget build and my first project. I am thinking of replacing coils with Eibach lowering springs (around $250 for complete set), new shocks, then upgrading wheels/tires with 17s, to get kind of a pro touring look and hopefully some more handling (can't afford Hotchis). Also need to replace control arm bushings (haven't checked the front end closely but its not too bad considering its still got old bias plies). The ads say the springs lower the car about 1.3 inches, question is will these mess with the camber. What about adding sway bars? Suggestions/advice is very much appreciated.

Anytime you lower the car the front end has to be realigned. Do the springs come with instructions indicating settings other than the stock? If the camber can not be brought into specs you have to use offset control arm bushings. Large diameter sway bars over 1 inch are excellant additions to front and rear.

I've used some 1 1/8th front, 1'' rear sway bars on my '67, loved the way it handled, along with modern, sticky rubber. Don't go cheap on the tires. Tires are most important for handling, along with stiff sway bars, for these A bodies.

Yes, modern, 17'' wheels would really help. Gives you options to upgrade the brakes that way. There are some really nice 17'' Pontiac reproduction wheels available currently. They looks similar to stock, but have a chrome finish. I'm considering them for our '68 Le Mans, they are about $225 each.
