I pulled the switch and cannot remember which way it goes on. And it can go on both ways. The transmission kick down switch is located on the gas pedal. I have two wires coming into the connector that connects to the kick down switch. 1st is Pink with Black stripe / 2nd is Orange. There are two prongs on the kick down switch. Which wire (side of the connector) connects to the prong closet to the firewall? 1968 Lemans 350 5.7L 2bbl Thanks . . . JIMB

exactly what transmission is in this car? The 70 manual, I dont have 68, shows a 2 speed M35 transmission that uses a throttle valve for kickdown purposes.

Transmission is automatic . . 4 speed (R, N, D & L).

thats a 2 speed, you only count forward gears. I take it you dont have a 68 factory manual? As I said I see no kickdown solenoid on the 2 speed in 1970. Have you tried using an ohm meter to determine in which position the switch is closed when stepping on the gas pedal?

Good to know only the forward gears get counted - I get some education every day. I do have a 68 manual and there is little to no mention on the kick down switch. I will have to pull and use the ohm meter . . More to come. Thanks . .. JIMB

In chapter 7, should be tranmissions, do they list an M35? If they do in the index in the front of the section, isnt there a mention of adjustments?

The OP says it's on the gas pedal. Sounds like a kickdown but on a LeMans with a 350 you wouldnt have a Turbo 400.
