Introduced myself a while back when I first got the car back in april of last year! A few posted of it as I got it in that thread! Well a year later and it doesn’t look a whole lot better!!!
But, looks can be deceiving!!!! Car is atill
Basically a massive paperweight! Took me 11
Months to get the title sorted and finally in my
Name! I was steady spending on it, other than the brakes, everything else I could resell! So wasn’t too concerned about that….
Ok, here we go, starting back in the beginning, engine did run, albeit poorly! First thing I wanted to do was strip while waiting on title issue was sanding the body to see the extent of the rust.
So I sanded and sanded and sanded and sanded and sanded and….. well you get the picture…..ECFF6BDE-ABFC-4804-80B7-0D55DE0D61F8.jpeg34ECA9CF-6D91-4B2F-B570-98BFCCB4064D.jpegDA176873-E00C-4CF1-9E58-DD5A45566481.jpeg

As you can see I was quite surprised at much was still sheet metal! Lots of bondo, but it was mainly covering up years of parking lot dents! Other than behind the wheels and above both rear wheels body wasn’t too bad, well, wasn’t great either, I did have to source a new drivers
Door and trunk lid, door was all
Bondo, and trunk lid was for a 69

Ok, now that drivers side is all sanded time to turn her around to access other side…… fired her up, put her in reverse and with and almighty bang, brake pedal dropped to the floor! Threw it back in park and shut her down, took 3 of us to roll it back in garage!!! Ok, so working its way to the top of the todo list is brakes!!!! Nothing went well!!!! Everything in rear was seized or broken!! So , I replaced everything!!! And I mean everything!!! Only original part is the pedal itself!!!! Also had a while im
I’m here moment and converted to front disks and power brakes

Got her turned around and sanded other side, more of the same, oh and a spot on drivers floor. Was rusted as wel, ordered all new sheet metal for the offending areas and then. Just tinkered and ordered parts for a while, didn’t really want to bolt anything else to car in case tite couldn’t be sorted

Once I got her in my name I figured I was really going to get some momentum going, alas, I’m afraid not, I did get a stock 4 bbl manifold and a quadrajet and got them
Swapped on to make car a bit easier to stay and keep running but new issue isn’t car related all, we have to sell house and move, so all car work stopped until I mentioned car wasn’t currently running, so I will shortly be putting some time aside to make it mobile again for the move! Oh before I swapped out the intake and carb I did pull her out, and a hot her with primer and sealer so she wouldn’t flash rust on me! And that’s the pint that I decided to do the carb swap when I could barely keep it running!!!

Them!!! But here’s a teaser2D8210BB-D4C7-4F0C-9E3A-D5799323DA2B.jpeg

Thanks for the update. Projects always expand and then life throws other things at us. It's getting there!

Did the carb and manifold swap, carb wouldn’t work, it was for an Oldsmobile, wrong linkage and choke setup, got another one and it’s all bolted on, but need some help, it’s missing the vacuum port on back to hook power brakes to , has the hole, it’s threaded, but nothing in the hole, anyone know then thread size ????

Not sure if 3/16 is fat enough for the power brake line, but I reached out to the vendor for assistance! Thank you!!!!

Really not sure why I haven’t done that already… lol was more concerned about thread size! Oh well
