I need instructions on how to set the timing on a 1968 Pontiac LeMans, 350, V8 2 brl? The engine is all original, stock. Any info would be huge. I really have no idea where to start. Right now the car fires right up, but sounds like it idles high when put in park after driving it for a little while.

first you have to set the dwell angle to 30 degress using a dwell meter. Then hook up your timing light, disconnect vacuum connection to distributor and adjust timing if necessary by turning the distributor. Next step would be to adjust carburetor idle and mixture screws
