Hey guys i have a 68 firebird that i am restoring and its almost done. Im going to be picking out rims and i need to know what is the maximum inches in diameter and width of rims that would fit on my car. thanks

If you're restoreing get the origional wheels which were 15 X 6 or 7. If you plan to put big diameter wheels with "no profile" tires, look at over 200 possibilities on the wheel section of tirerack.com. Just enter the year make and model of your car, ant they'll spit-out page after page of wheels that will fit. What's really cool is you can click a button and the wheels will show-up on your car one set at a time!

I would not suggest putting anything larger than 15x7 or possibly a 16"-17" x7" rim with stock backspacing as the front spindle assemblys don't allow much variance in width from stock ..
plus if you change the size too much the handling will suffer and you risk damage to the fenderwells and tires ...
