Ok guys

I had drums all around... I did the conversion to disk on the front. I put in a new booster with master cylinder and prop valve...the one for disk/drum setup..
Also put in new control arms and all front end suspension parts...

Problem
Ran brake lines to new calipers from the lower brake trunk near bottom of engine and have no brakes...

Question
Is that lower brake block a metering valve for drum/drum setup and can I now totally eliminate it because I have prop valve at master cylinder?

Run new lines from New prop valve directly to calipers on front and long run to rear?

Did you bench bleed the master before installing it?
Did you bleed right rear wheel cylinder, left rear, right front, left front?
You dont have a copy of the 1969 factory manual?

Mc was bench bled.
Brakes Bled in that order.

I don't have a copy of the manual.


My question is that when I did the conversion my kit came with a new proportioning valve.

I see another one down low on the driver side of the engine. I assumed it was just a trunk to plot the lines but I looked closer and it appears to be a metering valve as the brake sensor light is hooked up to it..

Do I remove that one and run all new longer lines now that I have a prop valve up high and is set for disk/drum setup?

looking in the catalog from www.amesperf.com there is only one valve that is used with the disk/drum combo their number R130B. So you also should have only one valve. How you hook it up is your choice.

Looks like I'm doing all new brake lines! Lol

I got a 12 bolt posi rear with 341 gears going in so I'll put that and the new springs and shocks in first then start rerouting brake lines

Another question....



I bought the disk brake conversion kit for my car not realizing they are made for 15" wheels. I have 14" rally 2's... Will they work?

There should be a minimum clearance diameter for the conversion kit. Check the installation instructions or specifications. Then you'll have to measure the inside diameter of the 14" rims to verify.

As Kevlar stated you will have to check for the calipers or disks hitting the wheel.
