70 firebird /trim tag info

I have 70 firebird, the vin is 22487, but trim tag has 22387??
Is that normal??
Both looks to be original?

I assume you are saying the first charaters in the VIN are 22487 which is a Esprit model Firebird while the numbers 22387 on the trim tag tell you it is a Firebird without regard to model.

the site below and others hints at inconsistencies between the vin and cowl tag but gives no specifics as to the rarity. Do other codes such as found on the engine line up with the rest of the numbers? Are you aware you can get a copy of the original factory window sticker from www.phs-online.com ?
