I bought a 70 LeMans 400 with a AT to Manual conversion. The engine was rebuilt and has a rebuilt Rochester Quadrajet 4MV installed but most of the vacuum ports are plugged. Even the vacuum pull down for the rear butterflies is plugged. Does anyone have a schematic of the vacuum line routing or can take a picture of the their q*jet on the engine? Maybe someone has a cd file they could forward or scan a Chilton diagram? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I do have a Chilton manual on request from the libruary but not sure they will have a diagram.

are you referring to the damper on the right side of the carburetor? If so it uses a short piece of hose about 1 inch in length and connects to the front of the carburetor.

carb damper

I was referring to the damper. My problem is my carb damper has 2 tubes coming out of it. I guess I could hook the short tube to the carb and plug the other. I was just curious if anyone knew where the second tube would go.

all the pictures I have found show the tube closest to the carburetor body connecting to the lower tube on the front of the carburetor. The other tube appears to be connected to a vacuum chamber. The chamber is located on the right side inner wheel well towards the top edge right where it is connected to the ride side fender. The chamber looks like a small canister, is held onto the inner wheel well with 2 bolts and has a single connection for a hose.
