Hi all!
I recently purchased a Lemans and I'm in love with it. The body is very straight but does have some rust in rear left quarter. It has a 350 with a turbo 400 trans and I was told a 12 bolt rear end but I'll have to verify that. It also came with a bunch of goodies when I bought it. I have quiet a bit of work ahead of me. I have some questions that I hope to have answered. I'll post some pics later.

I'm a bit of a noob to muscle and v8's, I currently have a Nissan 200sx that I turbo'd and did a lot of other things as well but I've always had a special place for American muscle in my heart and I've waited until I could find one that was affordable as well as in decent condition.

Thanks,
Truett

Thank you sir I have lots of questions! However, I'd like to find better sources. It doesn't seem that there is much support for the Lemans, although I know it's the same chassis as the GTO, I guess I'm not sure what will swap over....
I've also been searching online for forums and this seems like this is the best one out there? Maybe, I'm mistaken. Same goes for any sort of books. I bought a Haynes manual that is not specific for the Lemans it's about 6 different RWD vehicles from 70-87 or something.

Anyways, here is some shots of my ride. Not the best but I plan on getting more up soon.

Pretty much I was left with a car that was pulled apart and not put back together.

Here is a list of the extras that I can think off of the top of my head:
2 B&M Ratchet shifters
Transcooler
40 Series mufflers
and disc brakes were swapped in the front.

The engine goodies:
Edlebrock 600 CFM carb and intake manifold
Carb Spacer
Hooker headers
Accel HEI distributor
and some shiny Moroso valve covers

your postings had to be manually approved, i will try to remove the duplicates, whats with the picture of the header only 3 pipes going to collector? For a book try searching for Helms publishing, they should have the original Pontiac shop manual or try www.amesperf.com to see if they have it

Oh I see. I've never been on a forum where that was required. Anyways, that header is like that because the exhaust ports in the middle are so close, so I'm guessing the designed it that way 2-1 for simplicity. Doesn't seem like the best flow idea.

I'm new here as well. Hope to be picking up a 1970 LeMans tomorrow!

Truett - Is your KTM a 450 or 525 EXC? I just sold my '05 525 EXC.

Anyway - looks like we are starting in the same place but you have much more to work with than I will. If I get the car tomorrow, I'll post some pics.

This will be a Christmas & Birthday gift for my soon to be 14 year old son. I plan for he and I to work on it the next two years for him to have when he starts driving. This is why I didn't buy a more sought after model - eg. GTO.

Good luck and keep posting please!

Shaun

Truett, nice 70 you've got. Looks pretty solid. I'm looking at buying a 71 Lemans. It needs lots of work, but its in descent shape. I'm impatiently waiting for all the snow to melt so I can get a look underneath it. Good luck with it. Hopefully I will be buying the 71 in a few weeks.
