Just finished re-upholstering and am ready to start driving but I want to change the transmission fluid / filter and refill with a fluid that will restore some spunk to it. Any suggestions?
Also, probably need to drain and refill the radiator. Some conflict as to whether to use a chemical cleaner in the process or just use water to clean out before refilling. Any suggestions as to a product for that or refilling that is in keeping with a 350 Sport with auto trans. ?
Thanks for you input... I am new to the forum.

It is a good idea to change the transmission fluid and filter but not sure what you mean by restoring spunk. Use a brand name filter and fluid and a good quality pan gasket. It can be a messy job.
If you see no evidence of sludge in the cooling system just a flush and fill should be fine.

Ha! Thanks. Spunk was referring to a little bit crisper shifting. It hasn't been driven much in the past 3 years and I noticed a few second hesitation before moving in drive or reverse after shifting and applying the gas. I was thinking of a transmission additive or oil that may, on its own, be for older transmissions, dried gaskets, etc. it doesn't leak and still appears a nice red color.

if it doesnt leak dont mess with anything, just filter and fluid. If you pull the center wire from the distributor cap and ground it you can spin the engine over for a few seconds without starting it once the pan is off to get some additional old fluid out.

Sounds good to me. Just took it for a lap around the block and found the brake pedal to be a little soft. I'm guessing the best fix would be bleeding each of the brakes for air.

On the brakes I would first check for leaks and if possible suck all the old fluid out of the master and refill with fresh fluid and then bleed.
look at the shift kits from B&M or TCI
