Hey all, I'm relatively new here, and need a little help. As part of my 468 Chevy swap in my T/A, I'm installing a Champion 4 row radiator and dual electric fans. Since the electric fan conversion does away with the original fan shroud, I need to come up with a hold down bracket for the radiator. The only ones that I have found are for a Chevy type core support, which has 3 bolt holes instead of 4. From the comments I've read from others, it just doesn't fit. Can anyone tell me where to find this part? I did a Google image search, and saw a number of custom looking hold downs.
Thanks in advance.

why do you have to get rid of the shroud, is it because of the radiator? If you google "1979 firebird with electric fan" you will find images of people retaining the stock shroud but using electric fans.

I see that now. Must have missed it before. I'll have to try that next time I get out in the garage. I don't know if the new radiator will fit with the original shroud, or if the fans will fit behind it. It never really occurred to me to even try them together. I'll let you know.
Thanks!

Another thought is, do the fans have to go behind the radiator, can they be mounted on the front?

Honestly, I hadn't thought of that possibility either, but I'm planning to get the A/C working eventually, so the condensor is still in place. Besides, there's plenty of room behind the radiator, so that would definitely be easier. Then there's the issue of having "pusher" vs "puller" fans. I don't know if they're reversible (?)

Quick update: I didn't get any pictures because it was late, but the radiator does fit in the original shroud. The shroud displaces the drivers side fan about an inch to the right, so it doesn't quite line up with its intended hole in the mounting plate, but I don't think it's really a big deal. I could modify the shroud to correct that, and it would need to be clearanced to miss the cap as well. Not sure which way I'll go yet, but it's good to have options.

Good to know, keep us updated on your progress.
