8.1 and 4L80 to transplant in 1979 Formula

Anyone ever place a 496 8.1 Chevy in one of these cars ? I am about to attempt it as I have a customer with her 79 Blue Formula to restore and upgrade. Factory 305/170 hp automatic car. I have in my possession a 04 Suburban 8.1 and 4L80 with all harness and ECU from a 94K roll over. My major concern is the AC compressor low on pass side. I realize the factory AC box will have to be modified or eliminated for aftermarket evaporator. Any subjections will be helpful. It will take some "modifications" to mke the 80 fit. An LS motor and a 60 would be a better canidate in my opinion.

they put bbc's in early 2 gen canbarlygos. it is the same sub frame in the 80 firebird. just bolt a set of bbc f-body mounts to the sub frame and correct brackets to the 496.

the oil pan and low mount a/c compressor would be my only consern and i bet somebody make a pan and a set of a/c brackets if it won't fit
